Child Support is money that is paid from one parent to the other in order to help support a child or children.

Many different factors go into calculating child support amounts, such as percentage of time that the child(ren) spend with each parent, gross incomes of each parent, and possibly other costs the parents incur on behalf of the child(ren) such as costs for coverage of health/dental insurance and the costs of necessary childcare.

Each state has its own Child Support Guidelines, and calculates child support differently. Below please find some resources by state to give an estimate* for child support in your state.

* Please note child support calculators are intended to provide an estimate and guideline for the Court on child support. There are many different factors that can be considered by the Court. Guidelines are not definitive amounts that will be paid. Child Support Task Forces are regularly assigned in some states to evaluate the effectiveness of existing Guidelines, and changes can be made regularly. You should seek independent legal advice relative to your specific circumstances.
